The debate over Preston Bus Station rages on. Despite the shelving of the controversial Tithebarn Regeneration project, the iconic Brutalist building remains threatened with demolition and this threat of impending loss has galvanised those keen on saving the building into action. The most recent public event aimed at raising the profile of the bus station was held at Preston’s Continental pub last Tuesday evening. There, a panel of experts were quizzed by members of the public on all matters relating to the future of the building, including its architectural merits, social value and economic barriers to future use.
