Heritage at Risk & Heritage Lottery Fund

Further to the recent project run jointly by the School of the Build and Natural Environment (SBNE), in which CSD sits, and Preston City Council we can now report success in our bid to run one of English Heritage’s Heritage at Risk grade II pilot projects. UCLan’s project, spearheaded by staff and students on the MSc Building Conservation & Regeneration and BSc Building Surveying courses, will be run in partnership with Preston City County and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and will concentrate primarily on grade II listed buildings in Preston’s Avenham Conservation Area and the scattered historic settlement of Tockholes near Darwen.

Meanwhile, the SNBE has recently entered into separate partnerships with Wyre Borough Council and Rossendale Borough Council in support of Heritage Lottery Fund schemes for Fleetwood Memorial Park  and Bacup Townscape Heritage Initiate. We hope to bring more news on these heritage related projects in future blog entries.
